Linda (Prachniak) Chipman, 68, of Rockville, beloved wife of 47 years to Allen Chipman, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Woodlake at Tolland with her family at her side.

Born in Columbus, Miss., the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Hartsell) Prachniak, she grew up and has lived in Rockville all of her life. She worked in local libraries for many years. Linda was an avid reader and she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

She also leaves her children, Steven Chipman, and his wife, Katherine, of Ellington, Sallie Aubin, and her husband, Arthur, of Ellington, and Joseph Chipman of Rockville; six grandchildren, Hunter and Jake Chipman, Casey and Matthew Aubin, and Amber and Kaylee Chipman; a sister, Bette Reed of Anniston, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.

Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, May 10, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.

Memorial donations in Linda's memory may be made to the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, D.C. 20077.
