Newport - Roscoe P. Foos, 91, of Littleton, CO, since April 2000 and formerly of Newport, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005, at the Autumn Heights Health Care Center in Denver. He was the owner of Foos Department Store in Newport for 50 years, retiring in 1978. He was born November 22, 1913, in Newport, to Claude M. Foos and Zona Bonebrake Foos. His wife Velma Fern Craft Foos, whom he married May 31, 1933, died November 17, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Ann Uhey and her husband Dick of Littleton; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1931 graduate of Newport High School and was past director of the former Citizens State Bank of Vermillion County. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, followed by private services and burial in Thomas Cemetery in Newport.
