McClintic Rites
Held Wednesday
Retired Dentist
Succumbs Tuesday
Hundreds of people filled the Methodist Church Wednesday to pay final tribute to G. V. McClintic, 49-year-old retired Sayre dentist who died Tuesday morning.
Dr. McClintic came to Sayre in 1921 and established a dentistry practice which he was forced to leave three years ago because of ill health. He underwent several major operations and recovered sufficiently to engage in a small insurance business. Though he never became entirely well, it was thought by many that the popular dentist eventually would recover and to them news of his death was a great shock.
Kiwanis Charter Member
While he was in good health Dr. McClintic was prominent in civic affairs. He was one of the organizers of the Kiwanis club, a member of the Glen Russell Martin American Legion Post.
Services were conducted by Rev. Carl Belcher, First Christian church pastor. Burial arrangements were made at the Sayre-Doxey cemetery by Littrell-Scroggins with the American Legion in charge of services.
Survivors Are Listed
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Myrtle McClintic, a member of the Whitehurst school faculty; two children, George V. Jr. and Lo Emma; a brother, J. V. McClintic, former congressman of Washington, D. C., and three sisters, Mrs. W. W. Holmes, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Dan Parker, Dallas, and Mrs. Olive M. Johnson, Denton, Texas.
