Sonora resident Helen Edwards died June 19 at a Sonora care home. She was 97. She was born in Colorado and had lived in Sonora for 15 years. She was a homemaker for 77 years who enjoyed painting and pen lettering. She is survived by her son, Phillip "Joe" Edwards, of Juneau, Alaska. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
