was born on September 28, 1880 in Texas to Mary Virginia Goodnight and Samuel Seay Jones.
He was a Math professor at the Nashville Bible School where he met Lillian Dean McFarland. After marriage in 1904, they went to serve at Gunter Bible College in Grayson,Texas . While in Texas, a son Sterling Samuel Jones, was born. A girl was also born to them but died as an infant. He was a math whiz and wrote three math text books that were used in schools until the 1960s. In later years, the family moved back to Lillian's home in Nashville TN.
He died at home on Belvidere Dr. with his family, including my father, Lillian's nephew, William Dean Brewer, around him. Interestingly, my father was present at the death of Si's son Sterling Samuel and his aunt Lillian, also.
Samuel Isaac Jones was a gentle man and a gentleman.
