James L. Stump, 74, died at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (Graybill) Stump, with whom he celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2005. Funeral Tuesday at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, York, Rev. John S. Ilyes, pastor of New Fairview Church Of The Brethren officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with graveside military honors conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Stump was born February 9, 1931, in York. He was the son of the late Elsworth and Carrie (Myers) Stump. Mr. Stump was employed at York Electro-Mechanical Corp. and prior to that he worked at Lyon Metal Products for 33 years. He was a Korean War Army veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Victory Athletic Assoc., Twelfth Ward Independent Democratic Club, and a life member of Prince Athletic Assoc. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stump is survived by three daughters, Deborah King of York, Susan Orndorf of Hanover, and Sally Cash of Red Lion; two sons, Timothy Stump and Brian Stump, both of Red Lion; five granddaughters, Amy Henry-Jackson, Kelly Henry, Melissa Cash, Amanda Stump, and Lindsey Stump; one great-grandson, Ty Henry-Jackson; three sisters, Virginia Schaszberger and Patricia Resser, both of York, and Linda Irons of Levittown; and one brother, Kenneth Stump of York.
