Robert L. Freeman, 79, of the 2500 block of Pruden Blvd., passed away on May 21, 2005. Born in Greenville, N.C., he was a retired heavy equipment operator. He is survived by eight daughter, Ann Van Dusen, Barbara Wiseman, Carolyn McClain, Donna Santos, Jeanne Jernee, Sherry Freeman, Robin Williams and Terry McNeal; four sons, Robert Freeman Jr., Randy Freeman, Barry Freeman and Steve Freeman; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Freeman. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. Harrell and Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge.
