Thelma was the daughter of James Edward 'John' and Mary Jane (Shambow) Blake. She married Milton Henry Bean in 1918 and they had one son, James Blake.

Lifetime Dillon resident Thelma Catherine Bean died Friday evening in Barrett Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Services were Monday morning in Brundage Funeral Chapel. Father Pedro Barron officiated. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery.
Thelma Bean was the eldest daughter of pioneer ranchers, Mary and Ed Blake. She was born April 3, 1899 on the Centennial Valley ranch. She married her childhood sweetheart Milton 'Sunny' Bean and together they ranched throughout the valley until retiring. Thelma will be remembered for her personality, for her skills as a horsewoman and for her love of animals.
Her convincing ways brought many improvements to the valley. Thelma was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Barracks WWI Auxiliary 2259 and a life long resident of Beaverhead County.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Sunny and her son Blake.
She is survived by many relatives from out of town and by sisters, Mrs. Ethel Willoughby and Mrs. Vaneta Palmer of Dillon; granddaughter Cynde Bean Collins of Wadesboro, N.C., daughter-in-law Viola Bean of Dillon; and local nieces Loretta Cashmore, Aileen Warrick and Muriel Nix.
