I would like to thank Robert Bennett and Ed Elam for taking and adding the Picture of my great great grandfathers tombstone. I will forever be grateful to you. God Bless
Benjamin migrated to the Peters Colony as a single man according to the colony agent's report in July 1845. Husband of Nancy Paralee ELAM Bethurum. Married: March 14, 1849 in Dallas County, Texas.
Benjamin is not actually at Pleasant Mound. He has a marker along with three other individuals. There is no one in these graves. It was placed there as a memorial. It is rumored that when they widened Hwy 175 they relocated the graves at the Elam cemetery to other cemeteries. The where abouts of Benjamin is in question even though he has a marker at Pleasant Mound Public cemetery he is not interred there.
Special Note: There are no markers at the Elam cemetery. Rumor has it someone bought the land the cemetery was on and took up all the stones and piled them up. They all disappeared after that. By Ed Elam
