Elizabeth, David Dobson, Jacob Miller and his wife, Sarah Waltz, had all been members of the same church, a United Brethren Church. David Dobson and Jacob Miller helped to establish the church, which was located next to the cemetery, where they are all buried. (A brother of Sarah Waltz, George R. Waltz, donated the land for the church and cemetery.)
Jacob Miller's first wife, Sarah nee Waltz, had died in 1842, leaving behind her husband and her seven children to mourn her passing. [Jacob Miller and some of his older children had been born in Virginia.])
