BEACH LAKE – Vincent Cortese Sr. of Beach Lake, a retired taxi cab driver, died Wednesday, September 23, in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. He was 92. Son of Daniel and Delia Bouno Cortese, he was born October 10, 1905, in Italy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New York City. Survivors include his wife, Marie, at home; a son, Vincent Jr. of Narrowsburg; two daughters, Delia Cortese and Marguerite Schroeder, both of Brooklyn; a brother, John of Narrowsburg; a sister, Anne Mecca of Dunmore; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Narrowsburg. The Rev. Thomas Jones officiated.
