Matthew Dale Blankenship, 38, of Marshfield, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Springfield.
He was born May 5, 1975 in Lebanon, Mo. to Bruce and Flecia (Matthews) Blankenship.
He was a 1993 graduate of Marshfield High School. He was a technician at Peterbilt of Springfield, and also served as a lieutenant for the Marshfield Fire Department.
He was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda; three children, Brooke, Megan and Dylan Blankenship; his parents, Bruce and Flecia Blankenship; two brothers and their wives, Daniel and Rachel Blankenship, and Joe and Kim Blankenship, all of Marshfield; his grandparents, Ted and Carrie Matthews, of Lebanon, and Ima Jean Jones, of Lebanon, also many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Matthew Dale Blankenship will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 in the Marshfield High School Gymnasium.
Burial will be in Welch Cemetery at Northview, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home of Marshfield.
The family suggests memorial contributions can be mde to the Marshfield Firefighters Association.

MARSHFIELD, Mo. — A volunteer southwest Missouri firefighter has died from injuries suffered when he became trapped in a burning home.
The Marshfield fire department says Lt. Matthew Blankenship died early Saturday in the burn center of a Springfield hospital.
Blankenship, 38, was severely burned July 13 while fighting a house fire in Niagua.
Another Marshfield firefighter also became trapped in the home but managed to escape with minor injuries. And the Niagua fire chief was treated for injuries.
Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered that the flags of the United States and the state of Missouri be flown half-staff at all state government buildings in Webster County today to honor the deceased.
Lieut. Blankenship's death is the first fatality in the history of the Marshfield fire department, which is volunteer.
