Airman First Class Charles Michael Capobianco of Pleasant Valley, NY died on August 20, 2003 at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, NE from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fremont County, Iowa. He was a lifelong resident of Dutchess County. He was born on January 9, 1983 in White Plains, NY to William A. Capobianco and Valerie Snider. He enlisted in the US Air Force on February 4, 2003 and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX. At the time of the accident, he was enroute to his first assignment at Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, SD. He played baseball and basketball for the Town of Fishkill, NY. He is survived by his parents, William Capobianco and his wife, Debbie of Bradenton, FL; Valerie Phillips and her husband, Douglas of Pleasant Valley, NY; grandparents, Della Snider of Blacksburg, VA and William and Claire Capobianco of Bradenton, FL; stepbrother and stepsisters, Kristi, John, Melissa, Ashlee, Ryan and Justin. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, William Anthony Capobianco on July 7, 1997 and his grandfather, Charles Snider on October 4, 1996. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY. Interment at St. Denis Cemetery with full military honors.

This was Michael or Mikey as his mom called him. He was a trained chef. He promised to cook for us the next time he was here, but he was in the accident before he could. So his mom made it for us with much love 10 months after he left us. I went into labor that night with my daughter (his cousin).

Michael was my husband's cousin. He was a great person that everyone loved!
