Kay was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 30, 1934 to Keith and Mercedes Sherman. Kay grew up mostly in Texas, Louisiana and Colorado. Kay married Thor Strimple in Omaha, thereafter Hank (Henry) and Lisa were born. Kay met John Gates Bell in Omaha. Kay and Thor parted ways, and Kay and John became life partners. Kay and John parented Rinzai, Tzena and Greymuira. Kay is survived by these five children plus Jacque, mother of Noel and Cohen. Kay has many grandchildren including Lancia, Vic, Tony, Noah, Laina, Dylan, and aforementioned Noel and Cohen. Kay grew up with two brothers, Jory and Keith (Barr), and one sister, Sunny Lynn. Kay was predeceased by Keith and Sunny Lynn. Jory survives his siblings, and parents. Kay has loving children in-laws Michael, Ronda, Bob, and Cenk. And many, many great grandchildren.

Kay worked several jobs while supporting her partner John and three youngest children in Berkeley California. Kay's longest and last job was with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, MTC. Kay retired from MTC in 2007. Kay remained in her Richmond Home until her heart stopped. At 11:10 am July 8, 2013.

Kay was tall and elegant, strikingly beautiful, outgoing, and friend to anyone with kindness (and some with little :-). Among those impacted by Kay's years on this earth are numerous family and friends from all demographics. Kay was a fierce peace promoter, justice advocate, animal lover. Kay was open minded and generous. Kay did not judge based on looks, gender, age, color, or any other physical quality. Kay would, and often did, give her most treasured earthly trinkets to friends or family who expressed a passion for such item.

Kay left a big footprint with her delicate high-arched feet. Kay was deeply loved by so many, and will be remembered with joy, and passion. Kay is sorely missed, and will always be missed. We wish her peace and joy in whatever world she now resides.

Remembrance and Celebration of Kay will be Saturday August 31, 2013 at High Noon. Kay would be sorry she missed it.
