Professional Hockey Player. A native of Dolbeau, Quebec, Caron (aka Charon), played for teams in the NHL, QJHL, QHL, EPHL, AHL, NSSHL, Al-Cup, EHL, CPHL, WHL, CHL, WHA, and the NAHL hockey leagues. At 5'09, and 170lbs, Caron played the position of Right Wing for the Dolbeau Dragons from 1956 to 1957, Chicoutimi Sagueneens from 1957 to 1959, Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds from 1959 to 1961, Quebec Aces from 1959 to 1962, Amherst Ramblers from 1961 to 1962, St. Louis Braves from 1962 to 1965, Charlotte Checkers from 1962 to 1963, Buffalo Bison from 1964 to 1966, 1967 to 1968, Portland Buckaroos from 1966 to 1967, Oakland Seals from 1967 to 1968, Montreal Canadiens from 1968 to 1969, Houston Apollos from 1968 to 1969, Montreal Voyageurs from 1969 to 1970, San Diego Gulls from 1970 to 1971, Oklahoma City Blazers from 1971 to 1972, Quebec Nordiques from 1972 to 1974, Michigan Stags from 1974 to 1975, Baltimore Blades from 1974 to 1975, Syracuse Blazers from 1974 to 1975, and the Beauce Jaros from 1975 to 1976. Caron was a member of the NSSHL First All-Star Team in 1962, member of the EPHL First All-Star Team in 1963, member of the CPHL First All-Star Team in 1964, and a member of the NAHL Second All-Star Team in 1976. In the summer of 1978 Caron suffered a heart attack and had to retire from playing hockey. On December 16, 1986, Caron suffered another heart attack and died at the age of 48, in Chicoutimi, Quebec.
