Dalton was the son of Sandy and Dennis Edwards of Greenfield, Missouri. He lost his life along with his aunt, Debra D. Moore in a tragic accident on EE Hwy 8 miles northeast of Greenfield, MO.

Dalton loved horses. He believed cowboys boots went with everything, even shorts in the summer. He loved riding in his Dad's 18-wheeler every chance he had. Dalton was game for about anything. He was an adventurous little guy that was never shy about saying what was on his mind. He loved hearing stories and was easily entertained by watching his Uncle Jack do magic for him.

In school, he would offer to share his sack lunch with his friends, convincing them his mom made the best lunches.
