Joseph J. Duffy, a resident of Duquesne most of his life, died last Friday at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Requiem high mass was sung Tuesday at Holy name Roman Catholic Church, of which he was a member, by the Rev J. J. Kelly. Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery. A son of the late Bernard and Mary Holmes Duffy, he is survived by his wife, Nora Brick Duffy; one son, Joseph; a brother, Edward L.; and three sisters, Miss Katherine Duffy, Mrs. John Wiebelt, and Mrs. T. H. Graham. Mr Duffy had been employed as a chemist at the Duquesne Steel Works. (from the obituary published in the Duquesne Times, Dec 22, 1944)
