Ala C. Rupard
Ala C. Rupard, 81, of 1490 Hillcrest Ave., Martinsville, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1919, in Leatherwood, a daughter of the late Snowy May Haskins Compton and the late Eugene Compton.
She was retired from DuPont and a member of Old Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Herman E. Rupard of the home; one son, Troy R. Rupard of Martinsville; four sisters, Mildred Wilson of Axton, Hazel Stultz of Martinsville, Ada Campbell of Ridgeway and Mae Marshall of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Frank Compton of Martinsville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. Elder Lane W. Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at Roselawn Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
