Elizabeth Sophia Pyles
(August 4, 1923 - January 15, 2007)

Elizabeth Sophia "Betty" Pyles daughter of the late Sophia Meisner Hefti and Fred G. Hefti was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on August 4, 1923. He departed this life at her residence in Redford, Missouri, on January 15, 2007, having attained the age of 83 years, five months and 11 days.

On December 19, 1968 in Greenville, Missouri, Betty was united in marriage to Harley Ray Pyles. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1986.

Betty was saved and baptized on May 4, 1986. She was a member of the Redford Baptist Church. She was active in church activities, having served as a nursery worker and the Discipleship Training Director. Betty also served the community as a volunteer at the Ellington Nutrition Center for 15 years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Frederick, Arthur and Theodore Hefti.

Betty is survived by a son Pat Pyles and wife Vera of Redford, Missouri, one brother, Alfred Hefti of St. Louis, Missouri, four sisters, Mary Ann Hefti, Katherine Mierlenbach, Rose Marie Dirnbeck and Mary Beth Hefti all of St. Louis, Missouri. Betty is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She will also be missed by many friends who will mourn her passing.

Funeral Services were held at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington; on Thursday January 18, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. Minister: Pastor Doug Massie Burial: Meadows Cemetery, Annapolis, Missouri. Pallbearers: Jimmy Pyles, Darrell Massie, T.J. Campbell, and Dylan Massie.
