Patricia M. "Tricia" Kelly Riley was born on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 1967 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio to John Patrick Kelly and Jaqueline Humbert Kelly. She had four siblings. On September 13, 1991 she married James P. "Jim" Riley in Cuyahoga County, and they had three children: daughters Kelly Brigid Riley and Maeve Honor Riley and son Ian Thomas Riley. For years after the death of her sister-in-law Brigid Riley Kelleher, Tricia helped with the care of Brigid's three children. On July 6, 2008 Tricia died at age 41 after a long battle with cancer. At the time of her death, her youngest child was nine years old. Nearly five years later her husband Jim briefly remarried, to Sarah Knize, on April 27, 2013. Tricia is buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Avon, Ohio. Appropriately, the inscription on her tombstone reads, "Selflessness, Strength, Passion, Energy, Beauty, Peace and Love."
