Obituary
Mary C. Hodge was born in Oswego county, New York in May, 1844. She was married to L. C. Geer, February 15th, 1859. To this union five children were born and two sons, A. E. Geer, of Lamont, Oklahoma, and H. L. Geer, of Kinsley, survive. Her early life was spent in New York. Later Mr. and Mrs. Geer lived in Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri, finally locating in Kansas in 1877. Mrs. Geer united with the Methodist church when a child and has been a faithful and devoted member all the days of her life. She died at the home of her son, A. E. Geer, at Lamont, Oklahoma, July 1st, 1915. The body was brought here for burial. The funeral services were held from the home of her son, H. L. Geer, at three o'clock Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. M. Brooks, pastor of the Methodist church and the body was laid to rest by the side of her husband who preceeded her to the other side only a few years ago.
