I looked at your Find A Grave #114196476 and knew I had better give you some help. The DAR promoted some bad information many years ago and so it is now widely believed. Silas Germain 's first wife was Sarah Sutherland and they had 4 sons ,Peter,Reuben,Silas and Obadiah .She died 1766-1770,and he remarried one Esther Vail.They had several more children,including James that DAR includes with the above. If you look up David Sutherland's will of 1794 you will find her dead.
The lady in the grave is Sarah Germain ,daughter of Reuben ,granddaughter of Silas.She was only 30 years old and was Dwarf.In a 1884 letter I got off microfilm at Buffalo/Erie County Historical Library ,someone named Sutherland explains this.
