Albert Alderman died at the soldier's home at Waupaca on Feb. 18, 1904, of heart disease, aged 58 years and about 7 months. He served in the war for the Union from 1861 to the end of the war in an Ohio regiment, and was in many battles, in one of which he was so terribly hurt that rebels who found him would not take him prisoner, and he was left to shift for himself without food or care until he got out of his dilemma. He lived at Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.) from '66 to '98, when he moved here [Neillsville, Clark Co.]. He was postmaster of Humbird for a number of years. He is survived by the wife, a daughter, Mrs. O. D. Sires, and a son, A. L. Alderman. He was the soul of honor and kindness, and will long be missed. The burial was at Humbird.
