The Oklahoman, Monday, Sep 15, 1958:
Word has been received here of the death Saturday in Florence, Alabama of George Dewey Conley, formerly of Oklahoma City. Services will be in Alabama with burial here in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Conley worked for the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. for 29 years before leaving here in 1952. He was born in Paris, AR. Surviving are two sons, George D. Conley Jr, 4433 W. Liberty; and Gene Conley, Tulsa; and two grandchildren.

Rites for George D. Conley Sr, of Bailey Springs, AL, former OKC resident, will be at 2:30 pm Thursday in the Smith & Kernke Funeral chapel. Interment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.

Conley died Saturday at his home of a heart attack. A native of Paris, AR, Conley was a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he received his degree in mechanical and electrical engineering. He did post graduate work at the University of Oklahoma during World War II.

Until he moved to Tennessee in 1953, Conley was employed at Oklahoma Gas & Electric here as chief engineer. At the time of his death, he was superintendent of the New Colbert ---- Plant at Prides Station, AL.

Conley was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, the A.I.E.E., American Welding Society, Mus--Shoals Shrine Club, Masons, First Christian Church (Florence, AL), American Legion, and the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs Dorothy Conley, of the home, a sons, George D. Jr, 4433 W. Liberty; and Gene C. Conley, Tulsa; a brother, Guy Conley, Paris, AR; five sisters, Mrs Bill Plunkett, Little Rock, AR; Mrs Tony Gault, Shreveport, LA; Mrs Chris Criswell, Tucumcari, NM; Mrs Delmar --en, Odessa, TX; and Mrs ----Richey, Kermitt, TX; and -- grandchildren.
