Alletta Mae Walters

Alletta Mae Walters of Lake Isabella died July 9, 2003 in Lake Isabella.

She was born Aug. 13, 1905 in South Dakota and traveled to Oregon where she married Frank Walters. The couple moved to Massachusetts and returned to Oregon. They then moved to California, where she worked many years sewing in a factory. She was active in her church after retiring.

She was always taking care of others, making bibs for nursing homes and baby blankets for newborns at church.

She played cards, walked on a treadmill and rode a stationary bike to stay fit.

She was involved with many church activities, particularly the Boy Scouts of the First Baptist Church. She was honored every year by the Boy Scouts, who came to her house and sang Christmas carols.

She was loved and admired by everyone. We will all miss her. On Aug. 13, she would have been 98 and always did everything for herself to the end.

She is survived by her children, Lillian Ames and Darlene Perkins of Lake Isabella, Ralph Walters of Wamic, Ore. and Clyde Walters of Orange, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, and children Frank, Jane Wagner and JoAnn Grizzle.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella. Burial will be in Kern River Valley Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Lake Isabella Valley Mortuary.
