Charles [1st] married Lillie Ellsworth (Mathews) Porterfield (18 Nov 1865 - 13 Dec 1924).

Charles [2nd] married Nellie Gertrude (Groff) Porterfield (21 Sept 1881 - 3 Oct 1969) on 15 Mar 1928 in Gerrardstown, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

Nellie was the daughter of George William Groff and Mary Isabella (McKown) Groff.
