Evelyn G. Bailey, 83 of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at The Willows Nursing Home.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Harrison and Viola Weekley Siers. She was a member of Fairview Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Bernis Bailey of Tucson, Ariz., Jack Bailey and David Bailey, both of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Dan Bailey of Parkersburg; one stepson, Chesley 'Buck' Bailey of Parkersburg; four daughters, Wilma Fay Vannoy and Karen Lutz, both of Beaver Falls, Mary Cooper of Washington and Sue Smith of Belleville; one stepdaughter, Gladys Linger of Weston; two brothers, Haybred Sears and Darrell Sears, both of Chloe; two sisters, Thelma Lichlyter of Parkersburg and Orva Parsons of Chloe; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Greely Charles Bailey; two sons, Roger Dale Bailey and Charles Bailey; two daughters, Iva Jean Bailey and Irene Mae Bailey; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services were held at Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Lynn Roush officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Calhoun County.
