He was born December 1, 1940, in Washington. D.C. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War retired after 20 years of service, a graduate of Covington, Virginia High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Triden Tech in Charleston, South Carolina and was a member of Men's Golf Association at Clarksville Country Club.

Funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Clarksville.

He is survived by his wife; four sons; a sister; a brother; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
