Born in New Bedford, the son of Joseph M. and Rose Mary (Rapoza) Duarte, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Michael was employed as a carpenter with New England Carpenters Union Local 732.
He was a devoted father and enjoyed four wheeling and dirt bike riding.
Survivors include his parents; his fiancé, Sarah-Rose Varley of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Gabriella-Rose and Brenna-Rose, both of New Bedford; a brother, Steven Duarte of Fall River; 2 sisters, Tina Duarte and Lisa Duarte, both of New Bedford; his aunt, Maria Rodericks of New Bedford; an uncle, John Duarte of Alaska; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great-nieces and a great-nephew and many cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Acushnet Cemetery.
