Adell G. Brownlee passed peacefully on Monday from the arms of her loving family to the loving arms of the LORD. She was preceded in death by her parents, H.O. and Amy, and brother, Clifton. Adell is survived by her high school sweetheart, best friend and husband of 69 years, Lee; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Don of Tyler and Carol and Mike of Dallas; her three grandsons and their wives, Chad & Shannan, Scott & Mindy and Darin & Theresa; her great-grandsons, Luke, Aiden and Caleb; sister, Mary and brother and sister-in-law, Marvin & Dot; and numerous nephews, nieces and other loved ones. Born in Pleasanton, TX, Adell lived most of her early years in San Antonio, completing high school in So. San. She and Lee married on June 27, 1942, and moved their home and subsequent family to Lee’s Air Force assignments in Tokyo, Japan, the Pentagon and numerous U.S. cities. She dedicated her life to him, their home and family. Adell was a very active member with the MacArthur Park Church of Christ, serving as a Silver Server. Additionally, she inspired and partnered with her husband, Lee, to start and continue a 25-year ministry to the widows and widowers of the congregation, until their move to Tyler, TX, in 2006 to be nearer their daughters.
