Dorothy M. Willer, Galesburg Chapel 91, of Galesburg died at 2:15 am Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her home.

She was born July 30, 1921 in Galesburg the daughter of Robert W. and Maude A. Hartman Dunlap. She married G.B. Thacker in Galesburg on December 22, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1947. She later married Herbert H. Willer in Quincy, Ill. on March 25, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Ann (Marty) Thacker DeBoer of Sawyer, Mich. and Nita Maurine Thacker Kubricht (Snyder) of Crested Butte, Colo., two sons by relationship George Kubricht and Peter Snyder, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister-in-law Marianne Willer of Galva, Ill. and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy graduated from Galesburg High school in 1939 and Silver Cross Hospital Nursing School in 1942.

She was a registered nurse in Texas and Oklahoma during WWII. She later worked for St. Mary's Hospital and Cottage Hospital. She also did nursing for a number of years at various Christian camps.

Dorothy was a member of the Rebecca Park Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered at the Galesburg Rescue Mission. She was a much loved member of the Harmony Baptist Church and participated fully in the life of her church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Monday, July 29, 2013 at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Nissley will officiate. Visitation will be an hour before services at her church. Committal services will be conducted by Pastor Dave Sholl of the Galesburg Rescue Mission in Linwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Harmony Baptist Church or Galesburg Rescue Mission. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com.
