Opal Jerline Adkins, 88 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab. Opal was born January 25, 1925, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late James Tomes and Laura Phelps Lindsey and wife of the late James Thurman Adkins. She was preceded in death by one daughter Vadie Adkins; 5 sons James William Adkins, William Alva Adkins, Tommy Adkins, Hershel Adkins and Donald Adkins; 3 siblings Bonnie Adkins, Herchel Lindsey and Charles Delmer Lindsey; 3 half siblings Helen Johnson, Inly Johnson and Novie Johnson; son in law Erdist Wayne Costello and step father William "Bill" Shartzer.
Opal Jerline Adkins is survived by 4 daughters Martha Dunn and husband Glen, Vida Dodson and husband Mike, Fordia Dunn and husband Larry and Lottie Dunn and husband Joe all of Morgantown, Ky.; son John Adkins of Morgantown, Ky.; grandchildren Troy Dunn and wife Kim, James Eddie Costello and wife Shelly, Vonda Turner and husband Jimmy, Lori Costello Clark, Larry Wendell Dunn wife Stephanie, Anthony Dunn wife Veneda, Pamela Johnson husband Jeremy, Jennifer Adkins and Tim Costello wife Kristie all of Morgantown, Ky.; 18 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
