Paula was the only child of Boulder Valley ranchers John and Nancy (Hagadone) Heide. I grew up with her-- she was 2 years my junior. She was the most cheerful, friendly person I've ever known. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and she was truly, as her headstone states, "Everyone's Friend." To know Paula was to be in the presence of an angel. She was so honest, pure, sweet, and kind.
She especially loved children and animals. She was proud of her Black Angus cattle that she raised and showed.
She had just graduated from high school days before she suffered an asthma attack from which she didn't recover. Despite all the efforts of the ambulance crew, including a doctor who was the father of one of her classmates, she died en route to the hospital.
She was truly a beautiful person and though it was so saddening for the entire community when she died, I can understand why Heavenly Father took her so young. He wanted his angel back.
