Mr. Jernigan was 36 years of age and had for several years been engaged in merchandising at Pembroke. He early developed great business capacity and succeeded from the start. He built up a large and profitable business and soon took the lead in all the progressive steps that had made Pembroke one of the best little towns in Kentucky.
About two years ago he was married to Miss Ida McCarley, of this city, and much sympathy is felt here for his bereaved wife.
Mr. Jernigan was a member of the Methodist church and his funeral services will be held this morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Pembroke Methodist church. Rev. C. R. Crowe will be assisted by Presiding Elder W. C. Brandon.
The interment will follow at Rosedale cemetery.
