Timothy Scott Layne, 46 died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Ephesus Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
Born in Lee County, Mr. Layne was the son of Ernest Jefferson "E.J." and Gaynell Coley Layne.
He was employed by Food Lion.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Layne is survived by his wife, Angela McCrimmon Layne; one son, Timothy Scott Layne Jr.; One daughter, Ashton Layne; one sister Rhonda Puckett and her husband Jeff. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, 3 nieces and many friends.
The family received friends, Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Cause of death Brain Cancer
This is the first little grandson of my First husband Clifton R. Coley's daughter Gaynell. We went to visit them in 1962 when Timothy Scott was just a baby. It was the only time I seen him. I wish I could have gotten to know Gaynell and her family better.
