Betsy was the oldest of four girls born to Bill and Lillian Burns in Pittsfield, MA. She was a caregiver to children and adults. After her parents passed away, Betsy moved to Huntington Beach, California near her sister, Marilyn, and Marilyn's large family. When Marilyn and her husband retired to Hemet, CA; Betsy also moved to Hemet. Betsy loved children and animals. She enjoyed her numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Betsy developed Alzheimer's disease in her late 60's and moved to an assisted living facility. She passed at age 73.
