Stuart Jay Bird, age 71 of Saugus, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 29, 1941 in San Fernando, California.
Stuart worked for Blue Cross Laboratories for approximately 52 years. He was a Navy Seabee with 30 years of service. Stuart served three tours in Vietnam and one tour in Desert Strom. He retired from the military as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Stuart was truly a great man who cherished everyone he knew. He will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Frederica Bird. Stuart is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon Bird; his seven children, Shannon, Shauna, Scott, Jonathan, Demetrius, Teresa, and Marina; his brother, Stephen Bird; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, at 1:00 pm at Eternal Valley Chapel of the Hills.
