Mrs. Patsy Jean Abernathy "Nanny" Addison, age 70, of Griffin passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Mrs. Addison was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 11, 1942. She is preceded in death by parents, John Benjamin Abernathy and Doris Eda Willoughby Abernathy; sisters, Sybil Nola Tutton, Brenda Gail Holt.

She was retired from Alterman Foods and a member of the American Legion.

Nanny was a strong, caring woman who would do anything for anyone. She cared for everyone as if they were one of her own. She enjoyed playing bingo in her free time and that is where she met some of her greatest friends. Nanny loved when she and Jeff would go to Cherokee, Biloxi or Vegas. Even though she wouldn't take much money, she would usually come back with more. She was still a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Jonesboro, GA.

Survivors include husband of 45 years, Michael Jefferson Addison; daughters, Pamela Jean Thrower, Tammy Sweet and husband, David; grandchildren, Melissa, Amber, Erica, Michael; great grandchildren, Cassidy, MacKenzie, Tiree, Adrianna, Landen; sister, Lois Knight; brother, John Benjamin Abernathy; several nieces and nephews. She is loved and will be missed by many.

Visitation for Mrs. Patsy Addison will be on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Mark Jordan will officiate. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery in Peachtree City.
