Donald J. Blakeman, 75, of Stockdale, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at his residence. Born Jan. 15, 1934, in Pike County, a son of the late Roy Lee and Ethel Thompson Blakeman, he was retired from Marion Powershovel in Marion as a welder and was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by two sons, James Edward Blakeman and Mitchell Keith Blakeman, both of Marion County; one daughter, Cynthia Blakeman of Marion Coumty; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Blakeman of Lucasville, William Blakeman of Mansfield, Eugene Blakeman of Jackson and Kenneth Blakeman of Canal Winchester; one sister, Sharon Hitchcock of Staffordville, Ky.; a loving companion, Jacqueline Keller of Stockdale; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to is parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Blakeman, on July 20, 2001 whom he married March 8, 1955 and one brother Ralph Blakeman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Daryl Grimes officiaing. Burial will be in the Stockdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
