Vada I. O'Donnell Delta Township Vada I. O'Donnell, 77, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2013. She was born March 7, 1936 in Lansing, MI, daughter of Warren and A. Muriel Andrus. Vada was retired from M.S.U.; taught piano and organ for several years, and studied vocal jazz under Sunny Wilkinson. She played the organ at Maple Grove Church, Grand Ledge Baptist Church, and South Church. She was also a member of South Church, where she was active in the choir, and she was a member of the Twilight Memories Big Band. Survivors include her 4 sons: Patrick (Sandra) of Lansing, Timothy (Karen) of Ferrysburg, Daniel of Austin, TX and Donald (Michelle) of Kalamazoo; daughter Kathleen Shattuck of Lansing; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Wayne (Roxie) Andrus of Bastrop, TX and Arlee (Jo) Andrus of Lansing, brother-in-law Basil Humphreys, and sister-in-law Ruby Andrus. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Donald; sisters Vonda Hayes and Ardis Humphreys, brother Roger Andrus and parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2012 - 11:00 a.m. at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr., Lansing, with Pastor Doug Phillips officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lansing. Visitations will be held Sunday, July 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Memorial contributions given to Eaton County Palliative Care or Disabled American Veterans will be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
