Very little is known about the status of his parents: John & Rebecca Blankenship who were most likely cousins.
After the divorce of Martha Blankenship from Thomas Blankenship, he married secondly September 12, 1905 Narrows, Giles County, Virginia Mary Elizabeth Goff, daughter of George Washington and Sarah Edna (King) Goff. His third marriage the 25th February 1916 in Monroe County, West Virginia to Eliza "Elizzie" Malinda Bradley daughter of Pembroke and Hannah Bradley issued his daughter, Virginia Kathleen Blankenship ( Mrs. Virginia Conley) who is named in 1958 as a surviving sister of William Henry Blankenship. The date of death of Thomas C. Blankenship is based upon a record of Wells Funeral Home which specified the date that his son, Crockett, purchased a coffin. His place of burial is based upon the knowledge of Crockett's daughter, Mary Jane Blankenship Melton which is verified by the death certificate in which Crockett Blankenship was the informant and names Eliza M. Blankenship as the wife of the deceased, and specifies Jones Burial Ground as the place of his 1922 interment..
