Mr. Winter was a native of Munday, TX. He lived in Modesto and then Knights Ferry since 1936. He was a boilermaker and welder. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Frances Winter of Ceres; children, Jack E. Winter of San Diego, Harley C. Winter and Larry R. Winter, both of Ceres, Cleon E. Winter Jr. of Concord, Elaine M. Fitzhugh of Oakridge, OR, and Debbie L. Barringer of Turlock; sister, Ruby C. Russell of Copperopolis; and 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Acacia Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
