SGT. MARION KING MISSING IN ACTION
T. Sgt. Marion Ralph King, serving with an infantry division from Camp Breckenridge, KY., in Europe, is reported missing in action in Germany, since Dec. 11.
His father, G.A. King, 321 East D, received a telegram from the war department Thursday afternoon advising him. The message gave no particulars.
Sgt. King went overseas from Kentucky last April. He was wounded in action in France on July 10, and was taken to a hospital in England. Apparently he had recovered and returned to duty when he again became a casualty, but whether killed or captured is not known. He had been awarded the Purple Heart while in the hospital in England.
Sgt. King had been in the army for five years, having enlisted at Ft. Riley in 1939. He was in the service there when the war broke out, and became a sergeant in the division organized at Camp Breckenridge.
