Ellen B. Witt Massa , 90, of Bellaire, Ohio, died Sunday, November 19, 2000 at her home.
She was born January 5, 1910 in Benwood, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lawrence B. [Witt] and Mary D'Quila [Witt].
She was retired employee of the former L. Witt Insurance Agency, Farmers and Merchants Bank, Union Svingas and Loan Bank and First National Bank, all of Bellaire.
She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire; Catholic Daughters of America, S F Club, Catholic Women's Club, St. Francis Society; Sons of Italy Lodge 754 Auxiliary and the IAC Auxiliary, all of Bellaire.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years Hugh A. Massa on October 11, 2000; two brothers Albert and Anthony Witt and two sisters Josephine Witt Carmen and Rose D'Amico.
Surviving are one son, Bruce F. Massa and his wife, Terrie of Columbus; one daughter, Karen Massa Beardman of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Florence Cicogna of Columbus, Ohio and Grace Mass and her husband, Robert of Bellaire; also three grandchildren, Chris Beardman, Rita Beardman and Nicholas Massa , all of Columbus and three great grandchildren, Christopher Beardman, Andrew Beardman and Keirstin Valenzuela, all of Columbus; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the BAUKNECHT-ALTMEYER FUNERAL HOME, 441 37th Street on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church Bellaire with Msgr. Gene W. Mullett, the Celebrant.
Entombment in the Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Vigil services will be held on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
