James "Jim" R. Hedrick, 71, of 4223 Williams Dairy Road, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Street Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hedrick was born June 15, 1929, in Guilford County, to the late Charles Ray Hedrick and Mae Pugh Hedrick. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was retired from Commercial Electric after 38 years of service. Mr. Hedrick was an avid hunter and helped to organize Southeast Hunt Club.
Mr. Hedrick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley H. Hedrick; son, Ron Hedrick; sister, Leenette King; grandchildren, Haley and Paige Hedrick; and special cousins, Kay Kiger and Betty Marley.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Lowell Shinn and staff at the Regional Cancer Center, to Darlene in Radiology, and to the nurses on the 6700 floor of Cone Hospital.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 301 East Wendover Ave., Suite 300, Greensboro, N.C. 27401.
