Lt. Col. Amos L. Bossa died January 21, 1998 in Tampa, Florida. He was 79.
Born in Walbridge, Ohio, July 26, 1918 to Homer and Hazel (Carr) Bossa, he is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Afton Estelle (Pack) Bossa, whom he wed October 9, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were sealed in marriage for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, August 6, 1969. Also mourning their loss are his three sons, Allen L., Lake Park FL: Michael A., Salt Lake City; and Norman L., Lorton, VA; two daughters, Kathleen Bossa-Lund, Cleveland, OH; and Lorraine A. Bolger, Cornwall, NY; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Bossa, Columbus, OH; and sister, Lucille Bruner, Sierra Vista, AZ.
A retired Air Force officer, Lt. Col. Bossa's 28 year career included service in the South Pacific during World War II, as well as overseas duty with the occupational forces in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Stateside he served as Asstistant Chief of Staff for numerable intelligence operations while stationed at the Pentagon.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 26th, in the Blommingdale Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brandon, FL. There will be an additional Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29th at The Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 So. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, UT. Honor Guard salute and dedication of the grave will follow at the Pleasant Grove, Utah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Primary Children's Hospital, Salt Lake City, Ut. or The American Heart Assoc.
