Mr. Kriechbaum was the son of William and Sevilla (Weil) Kriechbaum of Pleasant Hill. He first married Virgil Elizabeth Green on 29 June 1921, in St. Clairsville. She and their two daughters were killed in a house fire 6 April 1925. They were:

Betty Ruth Kriechbaum
Audrey Louise Kriechbaum

Arthur survived them. On 26 Sept 1929, he married Mary Ellen Ramsay, and they had three daughters:

Donalda (Kriechbaum) Dangel
Ruth Ann Kriechbaum
Jeane Kriechbaum
