Funeral services were conducted at the Perkinston Baptist church Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Martha Sydney Alexander, wife of Henry H. Alexander, Perkinston merchant, who died at her home Friday morning.
Mrs. Alexander was born January 1, 1871, making her 70 years of age, in Shelby County, Ala., the daughter of Clark Ingram and Martha Johnson Ingram. She was married to Mr. Alexander April 24, 1890.
Interment was in the Perkinston cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Simmons officiating. Pall bearers were Pete Peterson, F. O. Parson, C. O. Hinton, C. F. Evans, G. P. Dolive and Tom Sumerall.
Surviving Mrs. Alexander are her husband; seven children, Alva Alexander, Loyalton, Calif., Clark Alexander, Perkinston, Albert Alexander, Quincey, Ill., Miss Annie Mae Alexander, Jackson, Mrs. C. J. Varnado, Perkinston, Mrs. Aubry Etheridge, Hattiesburg, and Miss Helen Alexander, Perkinston; one brother, Wm. Ingram, and one sister, Miss Lydia Ingram, Longview, Texas.
