Homer Jones was born September 11, 1889, in Edinburgh, Johnson County, Indiana, the son of Henry A. and Margaret Belleville (Smith) Jones.

Homer married Olive Eveleth "Eva" Buckles on August 20, 1917, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Eva was born April 16, 1889, in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, the daughter of CHarles Fremont and Mary Jane Alice (Tennison) Buckles. Homer and Eva had the following known children:

1. Charles Henry Jones (1920-1920)
2. Rub Maxine (Jones) McGowen (1923-2011
3. Russell Lee "Rusty" Jones (1925-2003)
4. Mildred Arlene (Jones) Whitney (1927-2011)
5. Marvin Roy Jones
6. Homer E. Jones (1932-1974)

Homer served with the U. S. Military during World War I from May 1918 to December 1918. Eva died June 1, 1957, in Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado. Homer died December 16, 1980, in Canon City, Fremont County, Colorado
