Sam had worked as a diesel mechanic and was an avid Washington Capitals fan. He was a great dad, who loved spending time with his son, Sammy. Sam had a generous and fun loving spirit and will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Samuel "Sammy" Blackmer-Hugill of Bealeton; brothers, Benjamin Blackmer (Sarah) and Joshua Blackmer (Elizabeth), all of Midlothian, Va.; sisters, Hannah and Rachel Blackmer, both of N. Chesterfield, Va.; his niece, Nicole Lippy of Midlothian; grandparents, Alvin and Ester Miller of Catlett, Va., and Christina Jones of Jamestown, N.Y.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Moser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Catlett Cemetery, Catlett, Va. Following the burial a reception celebrating Sam's life will be held at the Faith Christian Fellowship Church, 3005 Dumfries Rd., Catlett, Va.
